I wasn't really sure how folks would react to the news, so I did a quick trawl of Twitter and found some common themes. tekken 7 is already dumbed down enough so that even optimal combos arent. But it doesn't really violate the spirit of it since owners of Street Fighter 5 Regular Edition won't need to pay extra to get the pertinent material. Shadow Fight, Reel Steel Series, TEKKEN 7, Street Fighter V, and others 6. On the one hand, Arcade Edition clearly goes against the letter of that decree. And we all saw how badly that turned out.

This is the literal throwing of the baby out with the bathwater, given that the dumbing-down manifestly undertaken, even if on a spurious basis, is done in order to try to attract more caual to these products. For new players, Arcade Edition will be the easy all-in package that Street Fighter 5 has desperately needed. Like making baseball diamonds smaller so more players cant hit home runs, or lowering the basket ball hoop so more players can dunk, or changing adding vertical movement to pawns, and diagonal movements to knights in chess so anyone can win.
